FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get there?
One of the greatest benefits of visiting the Sitka area is that commercial airlines serve Sitka with direct daily flights to and from Seattle, WA. No need to waste time and energy with a float plane. Contact Alaska Air at 1-800-426-0333. You may also book through its partner airline: Delta Airlines at 1-800-241-4141. Don’t forget your airline miles. |
What gear do we need to bring?
We’ll provide everything you need for a great Alaska fishing vacation, except a camera. Bring some warm clothing because summer temps can dip into the 50’s. We have all-weather gear in case of inclement weather. |
Does it cost extra to have our fish cleaned, processed and boxed?
Not a dime. |
Will you have the same guides as last year?
Absolutely. |
How long does it take to get to the best fishing spots?
With twin 250’s on the back of our new boats, we can reach even the farthest spots within an hour. Most fishing is done within thirty minutes of the island. Have your camera ready as the runs through the Alaska Inside Passage often provide close views of Alaskan wildlife. |
What else is there to do besides fish?
Sitka is a town rich with history. There are several museums and attractions within walking distance of the downtown area. Downtown is filled with a variety of quaint little shops and art galleries. The Alaska Raptor Center, Totem Park/Museum and sea life discovery tours are only a few of the other interesting attractions. |
Enjoy the beauty of the last great frontier
Sitka boasts stunning geographical scenery, with Mt. Edgecumbe Volcano as a backdrop and volcanic sea caves and cliffs to explore. Pair your trip with whale watching, a visit to natural hot springs, an ATV tour or a hike along a secluded beach and experience the frontier first hand.
